“I’m a PC”
“I’m a Mac”

I recently bought a MacBook Pro for playing live with Ableton Live. I finally understand why people switch but I do wish FLStudio was available on Mac (and not just on a Mac running Windows in Bootcamp). Yep, I know, why buy a Mac and try to tun it into a PC? I guess the only issue I have with PCs is that they take a lot to configure, mainly because every one of them is different. On a Mac, everything just works and they’re all more or less the same. Even with just the onboard soundcard, Live works flawlessly. There’s no faffing about. That said, I still love the PC way as well and a PC that’s set up right can be just as stable.

I’ll still be using FLStudio on my desktop DAW PC to compose tunes. I’ve gotten too fast at programming in FLStudio to turn back now. When I’m done, I can export loops to use in Ableton Live for jamming and playing live.

As to which route I’d recommend for newbies; If you want to play live gigs and if you have the cash, buy a Mac. If not, save up and buy a Mac. They are just too simple to use. If you just want to make studio tunes, then buy a PC. You’ll always find what you want on a PC and the money saved could buy you some really decent gear.

Anyway, I guess I really should tell you about what I’m doing. Well, I’ve some more demos up on SoundCloud now, so go have a listen.
